Step One: Contact NP Dodge Client Service Representative
We realize that buying your first home presents itself with a lot of questions. That is why we have established a Client Services Department to get you started to homeownership. Our representatives, all licensed real estate agents, will answer questions and provide assistance every step of the way. Call 402-255-5099. |
Step Two: Consult a Real Estate Professional
Consulting with a real estate agent is the best way to insure that you have a licensed professional in real estate representing your best interests as you review homes. We have 13 offices and over 500 agents serving the metro Omaha/Council Bluffs areas. If you need representation and are familiar with one of our agents, we will help get you in touch. However, if you need representation or need a specialist, our Client Services Department Representative will research and find a real estate professional for you based on your needs and areas of interest. |
| Step Three: Financing
|
|
|
Finding a financial institution to handle your home loan is crucial. NP Dodge has partnered with First National Bank to assist our clients who wish to own a home. Your agent can also be of assistance in providing lenders based on your individual needs whether you are applying for a VA loan, an FHA loan, or a conventional loan. Securing your mortgage loan will not only outline your monthly expense but will also establish the price range of homes that should be on your list to tour. |
Step Four: Selecting Homes to Tour
Now that you have your agent and your financing in place, it’s time to start touring the selection of homes that are available on market. Establishing the type of home and the amenities that you want will assist in narrowing down the list of homes that, along with the help of your agent, will most appeal to you. Review the available homes with your agent and they will set up showings and assist in reviewing all aspects of the property. |
Step Five: Making the Offer
Once you have found a home that you would like to purchase, your real estate agent will draw up all the necessary papers to make the offer. Once the offer is made, together with your wishes and contingencies, your agent will negotiate on your behalf in order to reach an agreement with the seller. Once in agreement, your agent will then begin setting up all the necessary activities which need to be completed prior to the closing date. |
Step Six: Closing day…Keys to Your New Home
When all the steps have been completed, and your closing day is upon you, know that your NP Dodge agent will accompany you to the closing office. They are there to insure that you are protected and the agreed upon terms of the purchase are enforced. Once the closing has concluded, all the papers signed, financing in place, and all agreements have been met, the keys to your new home are passed from the seller to YOU. |
Step Seven: Continued Support
Even after you move into your new home, know that your real estate professional and NP Dodge are here for you even after the sale. If you have a question or have a friend who needs assistance to purchase their new home, please feel free to Contact Us. |
